This original gouache horizontal painting is part of a collection, captured from the land around my home. We just moved to Darien GA, an old shrimping town. My first impression was how beautiful the drive into Darien was. You can view the shrimp boats over the old bridge on Highway 17, the 1730s tabby ruins from the old river bank stores, and the 700-year-old oak tree that's a landmark in the town. I couldn't take it all in at once so I started taking day trips. This coastal town has inspired me in so many ways. I hope you enjoy the welcoming feeling in each painting.
